Force sensors from interface for infrastructure projects

From dams to roads to bridges, the infrastructure industry is the backbone of our society, and the need for sensor technologies used in the development and monitoring of these structures is increasing. Growth in the infrastructure market is at an average of 9%, and the trend is rising. To support this accelerated growth, accurate and reliable sensors, test and measurement equipment is required to ensure, among other things, the longevity, quality and safety of all infrastructure projects. Interface supplies a wide range of precisely fitting force transducers (formerly also called pressure cells), load cells, load measuring pins and force measuring rings, multi-axis sensors, torque transducers and corresponding data acquisition.
Of course, we also offer customer-specific special sensors. We would be happy to help you on the way to a tailor-made sensor for your new project.

The types of infrastructure projects for which Interface offers metrological solutions include traffic systems, communication structures, water and electrical systems as well as building material testing machines as well as long-term monitoring of support structures.
An essential component for the high demands of the projects mentioned above is the final calibration of the sensors. It is important to ensure that the calibration standards of the manufacturers of force sensors or torque sensors are also traceable to national standards. All standards used in interface and are traced back to NIST* or PTB**.
The federal authorities are then followed by accredited calibration laboratories such as DAkkS*** or the A2LA**** / ISO-17025***** accredited calibration laboratory of Interface Inc., which therefore meets the highest industry requirements. Interface is accredited for force transducers (forces up to 1Mlbf (approx. 5MN) tensile force and compressive force), torque transducers (torques up to >10kN*) and measuring amplifiers (voltages and voltage ratios).

*National Institute of Standards and Technology. The National Institute of Standards and Technology is a federal agency of the United States based in Gaithersburg
**The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Braunschweig and Berlin, is the national metrology institute with scientific and technical service tasks. It measures with the highest accuracy and reliability
***The Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) is the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany based in Berlin
**** American Association for Laboratory Accreditation – The leading accreditation body in the United States.
*****ISO 17025 (DIN EN ISO 17025) defines the requirements for the competence of laboratories that carry out tests and/or calibrations
