Please note that each respondent selected all applicable information in the survey.
Interfaceforce product and service user types
Product development engineers
Product designers are involved in new product introductions (NPI) from the beginning. They come up with theories for new products or product improvements, draw designs and develop prototypes. The force measurement plays a key role in the NPI because it enables many different options, such as: B. automation and monitoring performance within the product. These engineers benefit from Interface's products because we offer world-class performance and can uniquely adapt our products and complete solutions to new product designs. Read our latest profile: Why Product Development Engineers Choose Interface.
Product testing engineers
Product testing remains Interface's largest user profile across all industries. Interface offers a variety of load cells, Torque transducers and data acquisition devices with different functions and capacities for small and large test solutions. We offer solutions for testing products, manufacturing parts, prototypes, consumer products, devices, OEM solutions and embedded components. We work directly with product testing engineers and testing laboratory experts to deliver standard, tailored and customized solutions that fit into testing machines, test benches and testing facilities. Often our products are integrated directly into the product to allow for immediate user feedback. Interface products are used to test everything from the structural integrity of an aircraft to the tiny forces of heart valve clips used in open-heart surgery. Product test engineers choose Interface because of the reliability and quality of its sensors, as well as its high accuracy.
Measurement technician
Metrology is the science of measurement and includes both experimental and theoretical determinations at any level of uncertainty in all areas of science and technology. Therefore, it is all too common to find many interface products in a measurement laboratory. Metrologists use interface products to calibrate machines and tools commonly used in production and manufacturing. The relationship between interface, measurement technicians and manufacturing engineers is of great importance as each role in the partnership ensures the quality of the products that leave the manufacturer's gates.
Manufacturing engineers and production
Interface's products can also be found in many machines, systems and tools in production. These engineers often use interface products as embedded sensors or for process monitoring. In industrial automation, our sensor technologies are used to ensure that certain robot or automation functions are set correctly and apply the correct force. Some examples include packaging lines, screw caps, bottle capping machines in a soda factory, or stamping machines that mark the tiny symbols or logos on a pill. The personnel of production plants also use force measurement to monitor the machines in operation. If the force data is outside of a safe range, a production worker may determine that a machine in production needs calibration or repair.
teachers
Another important customer for Interface are professors and laboratory technicians in higher education institutions. Colleges and universities, particularly engineering departments, often have Interface blue load cells and test equipment on site. The role of force measurement is rapidly expanding in the STEM field as workforce demand increases for students with experience in research and development, engineering, design, mathematics, science, and proof of concepts. That's why professors buy our products to give students hands-on experience with sensor technologies in undergraduate and graduate education. In fact, many young students today are exposed to products that test or use active sensors as part of their features, such as: E.g. tablet displays, planet rovers, sports equipment, robots, brake pedals for games, rockets and drones. We work with academic institutions and know that access to the best components helps turn future engineers into innovators.
This is just a short list of various people and titles we have worked with over the years. There are many more of them. Additionally, the use of force sensors in product design and development is rapidly increasing, so we expect this list to continue to grow. We are proud to serve such a wide range of people, industries and applications, and we look forward to the future of force measurement.
